Gary Larson is a retired association executive, not the retired cartoonist.  A native of northern Minnesota's Iron Range, he is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Journalism.  Gary served as a USAF combat correspondent and stringer for Stars & Stripes in Southeast Asia, and later taught English at Chualonghorn University in Bangkok.  Returning stateside, he was editor of a weekly suburban newspaper editor in the Twin Cities, associate editor of a business weekly, and editor-in-chief of an award-winning business magazine.  He is an author of one hardcover book on marketing, and is working on another book about the socioeconomic impact of tribal casinos.

During his 20-plus years in a second career, as association CEO, Gary was a registered lobbyist for Minnesota-based associations, chaired political affairs committees, and served on several boards of directors.  His commentaries have appeared in popular e-zines FrontPage Magazine, EtherZone, Accuracy in Media (AIM), the Washington media watchdog organization, and here at America’s Voices.  Contact Gary at glarson@americasvoices.org.
